I really try not to ever buy anything As Seen On Tv. I have done it once before.I bought a green skillet from the ASOTV section and quickly regretted it. Db from Florida Hillbilly says his works great. He did not buy an ASOTV branded one and paid twice as much. Your mileage may vary. I havent seen the Veggetti commercials but I walked past it at work a lot. The Veggetti caught my eye one of those times. I have made zucchini noodles often in the past. I use them in my Zucchini Ramen recipe. The downside though is the time it takes to make them by hand. I have kicked around an idea to make a zucchini noodle maker before. Well I finally broke down and bought the Veggetti and just tested it out. How did it work out? Let’s find out.
Veggetti
For those that have not seen the Veggetti it is a spiral vegetable slicer. It is shaped like an hour glass with top and bottom cutting blades. One side cuts thick noodles and on thin. It has metal handles to hold while twisting the veggies. The Vegetti comes with a top with spikes to get the most noodles.
I think two factors helped me make the decision to buy the veggetti. The design looks very simple and sturdy. I didn’t really see any real obvious failure points. Secondly it was only $14 so no big investment. If in a few weeks it breaks I will build my own and bash them.
Useage
The Veggetti comes with instructions. I can’t imagine the person that needs a manual to work this. Granted most of it is recipies to make. You stick in the veggie you want to turn into noodles. You then twist said vegetable. Out come strands of noodles. It’s that easy. The noodles coming out were very uniform. I had so much trouble making uniform noodles with the knife. With the Veggetti I quickly turned a whole zucchini into noodles. I sauteed the noodles in some olive oil with garlic and onion. I then added some alfredo sauce. The results was a quick and delicious meal. I much prefer to use veggie noodles to grain noodles. Next up I’ll try to dehydrate some zucchini noodles for camping meals.
Final Thoughts
My first impressions are high of the Veggetti. It worked as advertised. It don’t this thing breaking anytime soon. For the speed and convenience of this I love it. For the cheap price of $14 I recommend it. No one likes the taste of noodles. They like what goes on them. So make veggie noodles and be healthier.

I was thinking about getting the vegetable pasta maker… thingy. Now, I’m definitely going to get it! I know that the alfredo probably tasted good, but that picture is not very appealing. lol
