Tiny House

I’ve been busy with the tiny house lately. I have a lot to do in a little time. I have to be moved in by December first. Before I move in I need to finish the insulation and get the walls up. That’s about two weeks from now. We were also trying to beat the weather. A cold snap finally came through. Right now in sunny TN it’s a chilly 21° F.

This winter might be as cold as they are saying it will be. Getting the insulation done in the tiny house done is critical. I need it to keep out the cold and keep the heat in.

Wood Stoves For a Tiny House

I like wood heat. I like the dry heat from it. The way it soaks into you. I like the sound of wood crackling. I love to watch the flames dance. I want a wood burning stove in my tiny house. This is proving  a difficult search though. If money was no option I know what I would buy. I live in the real world though and I have a budget. A small one.

Even here in the south heat is important. I don’t want to go cheap and freeze. I don’t want to a shoddy stove that burns me down either. My tiny house is 12×20 so a normal sized stove is too much heat. Although easy to find on craigslist they are too big. I don’t have the space for something to eat up that much room. I’ve done some research that I will share with you.

Experiences In A Tiny House

I was thinking about my time spent living in two tiny sheds recently. I realized It was a story I briefly mentioned on a podcast once. Today I’m going to go into it a bit more. I think there are a lot of lessons from the tiny house experience. It was from summertime to winter that I lived in 2 10×8 sheds. From both a construction viewpoint to a tiny house living one I learned so much. The reason I got to thinking about it was a conversation with my buddy Dave from TnGun.  It was about me not freezing to death this winter. I laughed at the idea. The Survivalpunk will not be freezing and I have the history to prove it. So let’s get into the story.

All about Tiny Houses

For the past few years I have become more and more obsessed with alternative house building techniques. I know I want to own a home and land but without all the debt. I do not want nor need a McMansion, I do fine with living in tiny spaces. For a summer a few years back me and my buddy Mike built two 10×10 sheds and I lived in them. I was perfectly comfortable and had everything I needed. One of the most interesting alternative houses is the Tiny house. They are built using traditional hose techniques, framing etc just much smaller. One the inside they have been optimized for getting the maximum  usage out of the tiny space. Today I’m going to talk all about tiny homes and share my love of them with you.
