The best, cheapest and healthiest food will always come from cooking at home. I try to eat 80~90 of all my meals at home. It saves on money allowing me to save more for moving into my future homestead. The other main benefit to eating at home is that I know every thing that goes into my food. I know that there is no shit in my food that I don’t want in there. Eating at home is not always an option though and sometimes you either have to eat out, for business or other social event, or simply feel like eating out. You can eat out and not feel guilty about eating crappy food. Making wise choices, healthy, paleo food choices are not as hard as some would make it out to be. Today I’m going to share some strategies on healthy eating while out and about.

Paleo Quick Tip: Coconut Milk Cheese
Today is a quick little tip I discovered through forgetfulness. I usually keep cans of coconut milk in my preps. Since going paleo I got over my long standing hatred for the mighty coconut and keep it in it’s many forms in storage. Since coconut milk has a long storage life It stays in the pantry unless I open a can and don’t use it all. Recently I forgot that I had opened a can and left in the fridge for a few weeks…or maybe months. When I discovered it in the back of the fridge I was scared it might have mutated and would attack me. The odd thing was when I picked it up I noticed it was no longer a liquid. It had become a solid during it’s time hiding in the fridge. This transformation piqued my curiosity. I was too afraid of all the possible botulism that had infested this can of formerly coconut goodness and promptly tossed it out. Since then I’ve played around a bit more and will share my non toxic discoveries with you.
Paleo Cheesecake
Today’s post is extra special for many reasons. First today’s post is my 200th post. Ten months ago in March I launched Survivalpunk. In the following ten months I’ve held the hectic schedule of trying to put out a post Monday Through Friday. Though I’ve missed a few days here and there but I’ve manged to hit the bicentennial post mark. I realized a few weeks back that the 200th post would also happen to fall on my birthday. Today I turn the ripe old age of 31 and my blog matures to 200 posts. To celebrate I’m making a paleo cheesecake and showing you how to make it. If I could I’d share it with you as well. If only this was a scratch and sniff blog. Enough rantings lets get down to the no baking!
Cauliflower Soup with Bacon
OK I have to put the spoon down long enough to write this article. Yes this stuff is that yummy. What stuff you ask? The cauliflower soup I just spent all morning making. It was so worth it too. I began with the intention to remake the O’Charley’s loaded potato soup so that it would fit within the confines of a Paleo diet. What I ended up with is delicious and easy. Two of my favorite things, throw in bacon…well then you have something magical. Let me show you how to make your own bowl of this delicious concoction.
How To Make The Best Paleo Egg Rolls
I miss crunchy foods. Tacos, egg rolls, and other crunchy foods are my weakness. Since going paleo crunchy foods have been lacking. Sure there is bacon and pork rinds. This past week I’ve been kicking around a recipe for paleo egg rolls. When I went to research this I only found one recipe. It was a deconstructed one, consequently that means no crunch. That recipe is re-blogged all over the net. Mine is truly (IMHO) innovative. Mine has crunch, flavor and is 100% Paleo. Read on and I’ll show you how to make paleo egg rolls.
