Best Natural Home Remedies For Colds | Episode 128
This week the main topic of the show is Best Natural Home Remedies For Colds. For me, this is a very timely episode. Since I have been fighting the crud.
The odd thing Is I never get sick. Maybe every few years I will get a super bug and have it take me out. This is one of those times.
First up we talk about the hot toddy. My recommendation has always been to use Moonshine to cure coughs. In the podcast, I say 2tbsps of Honey. That’s wrong it is 1 tbsp of honey.
- 1 Shot of Moonshine
- 1 TBSP Honey
- A squeeze of lemon juice.
The next item on my list of Natural Home Remedies For Colds is pine needle tea. If you are cheap and want a free source of vitamin c pine needles are amazing.
I have used steaming cups of pine needle tea to get through many a rough cold. I like it best to start drinking it at the very onset of a cold. To stop it right in its tracks.
I will also supplement with vitamin c. And in very high doses. Somewhere in the 16~20 grams per day range. For me above the 20 grams per day will cause many bathroom visits.
The winter is the time to make sure you are taking vitamin D. Chances are you like most Americans are deficient in vitamin D.
In the winter with even less sunlight, this problem is exasperated. So get some good quality vitamin D supplements and start taking them daily.
