Purge Happening For Real

Today’s post will be a short one.  I’m exhausted after recording back to back podcasts last night.  Today’s even busier and I’m writing this on my phone.  I just wanted to open a discussion on this purge idea going around on social media.  I first saw about this on Facebook about purge Louisville.  The details on it were limited. I’m still not sure what’s real and what’s hoax. It’s definitely something to keep an eye on though.  So let’s get to it.

The Purge

So what is this purge I’m talking about?  There was a movie called the purge.  It was set in the near future.  To solve crime problems there was created one night where nothing was illegal.  You could rape,  pillage and plunder. All with no consiquenses.  I did not watch the movie.  It looked like a dumb concept.  Would people actually participate in such a thing?

Real Life

Some teenager tried to spread the idea of making a real life purge in Louisville, KY. He shared around an image on twitter that went viral.  I tried to find reports that it was real or a hoax. Either is being covered up or made up. It is trying to be done in other cities as well. Some of the reports I saw were attempted robberies. Loud fireworks being set off.

Could it happen?

Normally i would write this sort of thing off. Idiot kids being idiots. But with the level of unrest going on it worries me. With all the stuff going on in Ferguson, MO with riots and police crack down. It feels like tensions are at a breaking point in the US. The point is to keep prepping and stay safe friends.

  1. It’s happening all over the U.S.. The result of these so called pranks will be some “idiot kids” getting shot by a concealed weapons carrying citizen who is fearing for their life. As if your frail, weary country and its tired people haven’t got enough problems to worry about, now this, another threat to your safety. The zombies are loose.

    1. And because I didn’t close the HTML tags, that entire message is a link to the story about the Louisville Purge being a hoax.
