A few weeks ago I was contacted by the guys that run ParaVival and asked me if I would be interested in reviewing one of their bracelets. I love reviewing things and badly needed a new paracord bracelet. My old one was a crappy one from REI and was too thin. Also this gave me an opportunity to get one in the Survivalpunk colors of black and red. Basically wins all around.
The customer service at ParaVival is pretty awesome. They asked me to measure my wrist to make sure that the size was correct. I’m kinda lazy and just made up a number I thought was about right. I said sure my wrist is like ten inches. This set off some red flags there and they emailed me back saying either I have the biggest wrists they’ve ever seen or I goofed up and to check the measurement guides on the website. I checked the guide and found out my made up number was off by at least two inches. I can’t even imagine wearing a ten inch bracelet it would have been huge.
The bracelet came quickly and was of great quality. I always like to beat up the gear I get for review. I figure if it’s free it’s my duty to beat the shit out of it for those that pay to know the quality they get. I wore it for a few days before heading to vacation then all during. The weave remained tight, without any of the loosening you can get from cheap ones. I found that getting at the ends to unravel if needed is very easy. I have not had the strands come out on thier own though. My only complaint about this particle bracelet is with the buckle. I for some reason have a terrible time closing is while on my wrist. The clasp feels really stiff which I think is why. It also seems good quality so there’s a trade off, I just need to quite taking it off so much.
I wont go into all the million and millions of uses for a paracord bracelet. I will cover one I discovered while on vacation that helped me out and maybe you one day. While on vacation in New Orleans for Mardi Gras I brought my pewter tankard to drink from. I found that when not drinking it became bothersome to just hold it in my hands so what i did was loop my bracelet through a belt loop and the handle of the tankard. It made a perfect carrying strap. This would work for a Nalgene or anything you could loop the bracelet through.
Everyone and their momma is selling paracord gear these days. Kick over a rock and you will find someone weaving a bracelet. The market is flooded with junk that’s overpriced and under built. Paravival is priced better than most I’ve seen with great customer service and quick shipping. If you need a paracord bracelet go check them out.
