Bah humbug!Five days into the month of Christmas and I’m already tired of Christmas music. Not that I hate all of it, I just don’t want to hear music on one subject constantly for a month. A guy at my work suggested I put a little more punk in the Survivalpunk and do an article on Christmas Punk music. After thinking about it I only knew one of the top of my head. I dug around to flesh out the list and this is what I’ve come up with. If traditional Christmas tunes are driving you mad as well give this list a try.
EDC Tip: Keychain Lighter
Today I have a DIY project for you. As part of my EDC key chain I carry a mini bic lighter. I find it more convenient to carry on my keys than to throw in my pocket. It helps to keep from forgetting to bring it. Since after a few years of use (not being a smoker) my bic finally died so I’ll show you step by step how to attach it to your keychain and why you might want to.
Four Hour Chef by Tim Ferriss: Not your grannies cook book
I’ve been following Tim’s work for a few years now and was very excited for his new book Four Hour Chef. Tim has an amazing ability to learn new skills and simplify them for others. Before he shows you how to make some amazing food he shows you how to quickly learn any skill. Combine meta learning, cooking, a huge section on survival and hilarious life stories and you have me. Let me share some thoughts with you my thoughts on why you should grab this book.
Hamburger Grease Candle
Last week when I did the article on the DIY oil lamp a commenter asked it you could do it with something like veg oil. Maybe but I do keep veg oil around. I do have some fat from cooking some hamburgers. Will it burn? I’ve been burning it on and off the past few days so it absolutely can be burned. Let me show you how and some improvements that can be made.
Cooking! From Cereal to Mad Scientist of the Spatula

After getting and beginning to read Tim Ferris’ new book the Four Hour Chef I’ve been more excited than usual. They try a few things and when they turn out bad get put off of cooking. While this post will not be lead you to becoming a four hour chef you will learn some of the insights that make my food great.
