For today’s post I’m going to do something a little different and share some articles I’ve read recently. I’ll link to them and share my thoughts on them here. Hopefully you guys will find some interesting articles you would not have seen otherwise. I stumble across some interesting things in my internet travels so here are some of the best articles I’ve come across this week. If you have a story or question send it to me at James@survivalpunk and I’ll take a look and answer it on the blog. Now let’s get down to what I’ve been reading.
Paleo Cheesecake
Today’s post is extra special for many reasons. First today’s post is my 200th post. Ten months ago in March I launched Survivalpunk. In the following ten months I’ve held the hectic schedule of trying to put out a post Monday Through Friday. Though I’ve missed a few days here and there but I’ve manged to hit the bicentennial post mark. I realized a few weeks back that the 200th post would also happen to fall on my birthday. Today I turn the ripe old age of 31 and my blog matures to 200 posts. To celebrate I’m making a paleo cheesecake and showing you how to make it. If I could I’d share it with you as well. If only this was a scratch and sniff blog. Enough rantings lets get down to the no baking!
Day by Day Armageddon: Shattered Hourglass Review
FINALLY! I’ve been waiting for this book to come out for a long time. So far the Day by Day series has been my favorite Zombie/ Post Apocalyptic series. Shattered Hourglass is the third and final(?) in the series. Possibly the best as well. I realized that starting my review of the series with the third might be a bit odd so I’ll include overall impressions of the series with the major focus on Shattered Hourglass. In any case if you haven’t read any of them you can go grab them all right now and not have to wait YEARS like I had to. I basically walked around work last night like a zombie reading the book from my Kindle app trying to finish in time to review for today. I needed something positive after my ranting and cussing from yesterdays. So lets dive into the world of Day by Day Armageddon by author J.L. Bourne.
Gun Prices and Ammo Shortages
After a few interactions last night, some observation and some quick “googling” to confirm, I think It’s time for a good old fashioned rant. Expect there to be some potty mouth language used. It is called for in this case. Some of my rage is from misinformation and some is for overreacting. Most though is aimed directly at those that use tragedy to cause more tragedy. I hope your in the mood for a rant cause that’s what you have in store. Now lets get down to the bitching.
Happy New Year and Setting Goals and Measuring Success
Happy New Year everyone! I hope you had an amazing 2012 and an even better year in 2013. Obviously we proved all the Mayans wrong with our continued existence. Even though Obama won re-election the streets were not filled with blood and life more or less continued just the way it has. I’m not a psychic so I won’t bother making predictions for the coming year with the exceptions that things will continue to get more expensive, you’ll still have to pay taxes and death won’t be cured. The world will continue so cheer up and lets enjoy our time on this rock. Personally I intend to make 2013 my best year yet. Now lets get down to the real subject of today’s post and that is setting goals for the new year and measuring the success of last year. To do this I’ll share some of my goals for the upcoming year and my success and failures of the last.
