Last week when I went to buy my Remington 870 shotgun finally I decided I needed to buy some new hearing protection. When I was shooting at the IDPA match my cheap ones broke. I saw the Peltor Tactical 6S in the store for around sixty dollars. I had been looking at upgrading to the Peltor brand of hearing protection for a while and these seemed like a decent model. I got a chance to take them out and try them, along with the Remington and will be sharing my thoughts on them today.
The other night I was at home with a friend watching some tv. All of a sudden the power all went off. While it wasn’t off long I had a chance to use some preps and kick myself for not having others already. Let me share my experience with you today.

Yesterday I got my R.E.I dividend check and it reminded me how much I love that store. For those that don’t know Rei is a sporting goods store with a focus on camping equipment and clothes. What separates Rei from the other stores out there is that it is a co-op and return the majority of profits to their members through annual member refunds based on their purchases. I just got back a $40 check for gear that I bought from there throughout the year. Let me tell you why I love being a member and why you should consider it.
A current news story has made me snap a gasket. It’s not just the event being covered but the way in which the media has been covering it. I pretty much have never been a news fan and avoid it but in digging into this story I have become to lose even more respect towards it. Today will be a rant about my ever increasing hatred of the media but will also include my hatred of dumbasses. So stick around will I rip into some assclowns.
Last year on March 16th I published the first article on Survivalpunk. It all began with me showing you how to make Sauerkraut cheap and easy and I’ve been going strong since then. This marks the 238th post in the year which is just shy of a post every weekday of the year. The site has grown more than I would have believed in this year. I’ve made tons of new friends from the site and got to test some great gear. It’s been a great year and I plan on making the next year and the following ones even bigger.
