I’m going to show you what delicious food I’ll be eating this week. All the meals will be paleo friendly and simple. I spent maybe one hour cooking eight meals. Since I work a 12 hour shift at work I like to eat twice a night. So let me show you what I made.
I found this huge ,over 1 pound, London broil on sale for five bucks. This is going to be the basis for one meal. Split in half it makes about a 11 ounces per meal. With some possible left overs to eat at home. First I got a large cast iron skillet nice and hot. I melted some grass fed irish butter in the skillet next. While doing this I was preheating my over to 400 degress. Once I had gotten some good searing on both sides I put it in the over for a few minutes.
While the steak was cooking I moved onto the other dishes. The other three meats this week are one pound of hamburger meat, one pound of turkey meat and hamburger patties.
For the turkey meat I cooked in a cast iron skillet with some macadamia nut oil to add back in some healthy fat. once the meat was browned thoroughly I added seasonings. I decided to try to a Tacos authenticos flavor. I added some cumin, red pepper flakes, chili powder, cayenne, onion powder (I ran out of onion) garlic powder, salt and pepper. Once it was all mixed together I added some frozen roasted peppers and let them simmer for a while. When I pulled it off the heat I added some cilantro. I didn’t want to cook it so I added it at the end when the meat had cooled a bit.
Next was the ground beef. I browned the meat in a stainless steel skillet cause I knew I wanted to make a simple sauce for the meat. Once It was cooked I added one beef bullion cube, basil, sage, chili pepper, onion, garlic, and curry powder. I know beef curry sounds strange since curry is a typical Indian dish but beef curry is amazing. I added some water to make a good broth of the curry. Once all the ingredients were mixed I added some cauliflower in the pan, reduced the heat and covered. Once soft I started chopping the cauliflower to incorporate. Then simmered a few minutes longer.
For the hamburgers I just seasoned them with Montreal steak seasoning and pan fried. Then set on a cooling rack while everything else cooked.
Once the steak came out of the oven I set it on the cooling rack and deglazed the skilled with some grass fed butter. To the skillet I added some brocoli and seasoned it with some salt, pepper and a little lemon juice. I reduced the head and simmered for a few minutes.
Here are all four dishes in their bowls read to go. to the hamburgers I added the broccoli and I added some lettuce to the steak.
There you have it four days worth of delicious healthy meals. What are you eating this week!
