Bug Out Timeline
This week I cover my basic Bug out timeline. The shit has hit the fan. Now what? During this critical time you need to act fast. Like most other aspects of prepping prior planning is key. Having a bug out plan that includes a checklist will help.
I go through all the things I could think of doing to have a successful bugout. The list will get altered based on several factors. The time you have to leave, the severity of the disaster and season are the big ones. The less time you have the less you can do.
The severity of the disaster and time till occurrence are the first things to consider. If riots are happening getting out quick is important. They shouldn’t last more than a few weeks though and then you can return home. If a meteor is coming to destroy the earth in an hour thats completely different.
Whether you think you will ever return is also something to think about. If you wont ever come back there’s less you have to worry about. It also makes you more prone to take more with you.
The more things you have in place to go before hand the faster you can go. Having to search around for important items could cost you your life.
Topics
- The Shit Hits the Fan Now What
- Contact all those you’ve made plans with. Have an activation code word,
- Whats the time you have to prepare to leave.
- Time and sevirity alters what you do next.
- Little time just go.
- Get out your bug out plan checklist. That ensures you dont forget anything. Have the list in order of personal importance. Triage off things based on time.
- Take you Bob to your car if its not there. Check that it is packed and in order. Fill water containers.
- Have totes ready to take. If not already filled fill them. Food and water
- Load up your first aid gear and medicine.
- put any guns your taking along with ammo, magazines cleaning supplies etc. If you have a handgun leave that out for now.
- Now would be a goof time to change clothes. Wear comfortble bug out clothes that wont make you stand out. They should be vacumn sealed in bags ready to go based on season. Take at least 1 change of pants , shirt. a socks underware. Jackets etc based on weather need.
- Now that you are changed put on your sidearm. and spare magazines
- Gather any edc items you need on you. Knives, lighter, keys wallet etc.
- If you have emergency cash get it now. Same with silver, gold. Split it up to not all be on you and in the same place.
- Depending on how much room you have left in your vehicle keep filling it.
- Fill a cooler with all or as much perrishable items as you can fit. Anything left will rot. It would be best to throw outside for animals. If you ever return best not to walk into a toxic enviromnt.
- Start shitting off the utilities. If things get better no need to have a million dollar bill or an electrical fire. Shut off the electricity, water gas.
- Make sure no important personl items are left. Nothing to lead to where you are, no bank info etc. If you cant take it burn it. It should have digital copies.
- Put the trash outside
- Lock the doors and windows.
- It couldnt hurt to have a mail hold notice and leave it in the mail box. Depending on the disaster. Having the mail box not overflowing to show your not there could be good.
- Head to the rally point.

Good common sense episode for those that don’t have any, or didn’t put a lot of thought into the subject and just plan on winging it. I especially agree with your “37 items you need to bug out” lists being bullshit. Everybody needs different items. Using just myself as an example, I need less items then I needed ten years ago because I have more knowledge. Also I wanted to add I think having one subject for your solo episodes is the way to go.
Thanks Wiandiii. I wasn’t sure if doing news and a subject would be better then just the long main subject. With so many people getting into prepping and survival these common sense back to basics episodes are important. It never hurts for us to double check ourselves either.
That is a fact, I am notorious for letting my surplus food get out of hand. Even with rotating I’ll have stuff get out of date just by buying way more than I can eat. There are always hungry mouths though so none of it goes to waste.
The CHP has jurisdiction over the entire state; this includes all of the highways,
expressways, freeways, and interstates. Every ride in the game has a tab called Test Results.
With that thought in mind, I suggest a CPA, Tax Attorney or a
qualified tax resolution official. “Both departments were very happy the incident ended peacefully. But, when ignoring mosquitoes and the problems they cause proves futile, you may find yourself in need of a solution. This is where you are going to find the ideal things that you want.
