Episode 73 Homestead Update

Tiny House
Tiny House

Just a short podcast this week. No frills, no co host, no news just a man on a mic. This week I give a much overdo update to the tiny house and homestead. I talk about the move to Mikes land. How much moving a tiny house can be. The issues getting electricity hooked up.

More Importantly I talk about the projects that have been done since I got here. Things are finally growing. Fall garden beds are put in. The Herb spiral is doing great.

I also talk about my rain water catchment plans. The Rocket stove build, grey water system and much more.

  1. Awesome episode James, uhmmmm…I see Mike couldn’t grace us with his fuckin presence, AGAIN. I bet Jeff would have been more then happy to co-host. Just kidding Mike but I did miss ur southern voice. James I am wondering about what your final planes are for heating? Maybe a show on Wood vs Propane vs Natural Gas vs Kerosene? Which is more efficient, best for storage, value, smell and air quality, Especially if the power goes out?! Thanks yous guys!

  2. Long term I want to heat with wood only. Last winter I used a combination of Kerosene and electric. The tiny electric space heater was to take the edge off the cold while the kerosene heater got up and running.

Using kerosene from the gas station I was using about $7 a week in heat so not too bad. But a rocket mass heater would run on twigs easily scrounged up and Im a cheap bastard.
