A few years back I wrote a top ten list of Paleo foods to store. On that list I picked Biltong as one of the top items. Biltong if you’ve never heard of it is a dry pickled meat from south africa. In the article I stated that it beat out jerky for several reasons. Biltong unlike jerky is still very moist. It has a concentrated flavor that is not salty. When I wrote that post the only way to get biltong was to make it yourself. I tried to find a commercial biltong maker for you guys and could not. Recently I had a comment on the article from a company in the US that makes Biltong. I checked them out and sent them an email asking if they would be willing to send me a sample for review. Braaitime Cured meats and the wonderful Nicolle sent out samples and I have some thoughts to share.

Income Tax And You
Tax season is upon us. For many this means tax refunds. Hopefully you use your wisely. It is money being returned to you after a thief stole “too much”. For some you will owe the IRS more money. I’m sorry for you. I have owed them money in the past. Nothing worse than being told that after a year of theft you owe more money.
We aren’t here to talk about those that are over taxed and those that pay nothing. That is a topic for another time. Today is about a misconception. That the income tax being stolen from you does something for your country. I read the following on Facebook recently.
“Let me look at it for what it is.. it’s an investment. Supposedly. My tax dollars are an investment into this country, and for it to be a sound investment; then I would have to *believe* in this country.”
The post went on about how our “leaders” are incompetent. Policy is getting worse and worse. To be honest all good points. With the exception of it being based on a fallacy. What is the fallacy” Let’s find out.

Sameplate For Finding A Love
As many of you know I am a single guy. Being such a great catch you may find this absurd. Well I am very picky and have some eccentricities. A big one being that I’m paleo. I feel very strongly about my diet. I completely believe that humans are not supposed to eat grains. So going on a date and seeing my date devour toxic garbage for food is a turn off.
Most dating sites glance over diets and food. It may mention food in passing. On Sameplate it’s all about food. Sameplate is a dating site for foodies, cooks and dieters.
