In this podcast, Mike and I talk about How To Pick Survival Guns For An Apocalypse. What guns would we both pick for a few different apocalypses? We begin with a general SHTF. Basically, the best survival guns that will work for any situation. There is no ultimate survival gun for every situation. We pick several guns to accomplish different goals. 

After we take care of the normal Survival Guns For An Apocalypse we dig into zombie apocalypse a little. What survival guns would differ from one SHTF to another? What is my top pick for a zombie gun? 

We only briefly touch on outlandish weapons. I talk about how great a rail gun could be for a zombie apocalypse. If one was built light enough with enough power to be useful. The problem with many of the homemade railguns is the trade off between the stopping power of the projectile and the battery weight to power it. If that ratio gets perfected railguns make great Survival Guns For An Apocalypse.

Mike dispels the myth that a crossbow makes a great weapon against zombies. Since you have to  reclaim your spent bolts makes it, not a great weapon.

Food storage is the backbone of being a prepper. Making sure that we have food to eat now and in tough times is one of the major factors that drives us to prep. Knowing How Long Does It Take For Food To Go Bad  is vitally important. If you have food that goes bad you won’t be eating it. You need to plan for food rotation, especially on fresh food.

I hear a lot of stupid nutrition myths that are wrong. Everyone you run into is a nutritionist these days. It doesn’t matter that they are 300+ pounds and have diabetes. One of the rules I live by is to never take advice from those less successful than you. If Rich Froning wants to tell me about nutrition I’m getting out my notebook. If, however, an obese guy is trying to tell me that bacon is bad for you, he can get lost. 

For the most part, science is getting better at nutritional studies. In the past and probably still to this day numbers are fudged to suit agendas.  The often quoted China Study is a prime example of these. Where the scientist just tossed out all the numbers that didn’t fit his model.

Brushfire Plague: Retribution Review: An SHTF Novel With Consequences

I missed out on reading the second Brushfire Plague Novel. The first one was a good read. As I talked about in that review. When asked if I wanted to review Brushfire Plague: Retribution (Amazon Link) I jumped at the opportunity. I even overcame my slow reading to get this out today. I’m sure authors and writers want to wring my neck at times.  But I did finish it and let’s see what I think about it.

So what’s all this about? Well, you can snatch up a copy of the First novel for .99 cents right now. Or you could also read my review on the first novel. Basically, A virus spreads and kills about 20% of the population. The novel shows the virus spread and the damage it causes. 

The main character Cooper Adams loose his wife in the first novel and have to survive in this news world with his son and best friend. Gangs run wild and there are constant fights for them vying for power. The government is in shambles.
