This week I talk about changing out your bug out bag for winter. It was originally intended to be a winter and summer episode but I realized that would be a very long episode.
Depending on where you live your BoB needs to be changed out seasonaly. My preence is Winter and Summer. You can coast through spring and fall.
This week I had a mystery package to open. I usually know what I’m opening. This time I had forgotten about being sent a book on Krav Maga.
Krav Maga is the official self-defense system of the Israeli Defense Forces. It has been tested and used around the globe for sixty years.
I have taken a few martial arts over the years. Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Muay Thai and have had an interest in Krav Maga for several years.
From all my research it seems to be the best to quickly and safely end street fights. It was designed for that.
It also seems that the learning curve is not as high. In some martial arts it takes a long time to be able to apply your skills.
This book is filled with full-color photos to help explain the techniques.
I can’t wait to start practicing with Couch Potato Mike.
I do want to state that I do not believe you will be able to become a master with a book. But this is an excellent primer. Finding a qualified local instructor is definitely the way to go.

This is a solo episode this week. I am back from my two-week vacation and decided to do a 2016 recap podcast.
In this episode, I talk about a few of the big events that happened in 2016. And there were many.
I also talk about things that happened in my life and with Survivalpunk over the past year.
All the projects that were accomplished.
The friends made during the year. And how the site has grown.
I then go on to talk about plans for 2017. I want the podcast to be bigger than ever in the coming year.

I hope everyone had a great holiday. I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with my Serenity, Mike and seeing my mom. And getting gifts like This box from Zen Goats homemade soaps and beard oils.
I love homemade soap. Being a bit of a crazy hippy, commercial soaps bother me. They are all full of chemicals.
You would think that I would make my own soap. But the last time I tried to make soap resulted in the loss of an eyebrow.
So I leave it to my friends to make soap for me.
I have been using the pine scented soap and Gambler beard oil for a few weeks now.
The soap works great. It smells good and manly. So sissy smells here.
Zen Goats soap does not leave my skin dry and itchy. Many commercial soaps leave me itching all day.
The beard oil I’m still getting used to. I have never used a beard oil before and let my beard grow out some just to use it.
The smell last all day. My girlfriend liked how good it smelled after working all night. I can’t say for sure that Zen Goats, beard oil made my beard softer or not.
I have not remembered to use it daily which I’m sure helps.
