52 Prepper Projects Review

I am both the worst reviewer and friend in history. My friend David Nash released 52 Prepper Projects in November. I pre ordered and have had it since then. Now it’s darn near August when I’m writing this review. Sorry Dave, November was actually a rough month for me. The book came in during a terrible break up. I’m better now and it’s time I talked about 52 Prepper Projects. I’ll knock off the belly aching and get to it.

52 Prepper Projects

What the heck is 52 Prepper Projects? A project a week to help you prepare for the unpredictable. Dave  has done 52 projects to build from nothing to prepared in a year. It walks you through the basics of preparedness in a structured way. The projects increase in difficulty from making a Bug Out Bag to a steam powered boiler. It takes the guess work out of preparedness. Analysis Paralysis is a condition many suffer from. They find out things could go wrong. They begin reading about survival and quickly get overwhelmed.  With so much to do where do they start at? What do you do next? Many just give up or do nothing. 52 Prepper Projects gives you weekly shopping lists and a linear progression. When transitioning from sheeple to enlightened following step by step instructions is a blessing.

Back To Basics

What if you have been a prepper a while and have the basics. Well it’s always good to go back and check yourself. Project number two in the book is a documents binder. James wheres your document binder? Um…well…Yeah exactly. I had one and have a backup on an encrypted thumb drive. It’s outdated now though. Back to basics. We all overlook things. Go through the book like a a it’s a checklist. You might have a gaping hole in your preps and not even realize it. An outside pair of eyes or guide can often point them out.

Weekend Projects

The last reason I love 52 Prepper Projects is for fun. I used to have a tradition called Sunday Instructables. Every Sunday me and my co host Mike would pick a project to do. Dave has handpicked 52 of them for you. He details the projects with great instructions and pictures. While not every project will be for you there will be many you will love. I just flipped to a random page and saw how to make a $20 cheese press. How about forging a knife from an old file. I’m not going to use a file I have been rail road spike collecting. Dave has a forge I might stop by and use it.

So my review of 52 prepper projects is only 8 months late. All good things are worth the wait. If you have not heard of the book or just not picked it up yet go do so. Hell it’s only $12 that’s about a quarter per project. Maybe next book Dave does I’ll review on time. Dave lives the DIY life and remember to DIY 2 Survive friends!
