The approx weight on the Ribz is 9 oz. The average storage capacity is between 600-800 cubic inches. The design allows up to ten pounds to be comfortable carried. The color of this model is Alpine green and is the large size, waist size 32-44.

Ribz Front Pack

Out hiking with the RIBZ

I think I first stumbled onto the Ribz from Youtube on Nutnfancy’s channel. I was watching one of his outdoor adventures videos and his friend was wearing it. I really liked the idea of being able to access your important gear without having to stop and remove your pack and dig for it. In the past I’ve tried some…lets say “sketchy” methods of having important gear accessible. Things like zip tying and carabiner chaining things to the straps. I have a multi tool zip tied to the strap of my GHB and it tends to whip around. With the RIBZ everything is packed away safely and organized for easy access.

RIBZ Back

I did not get to use the RIBZ nearly enough in the short time I had with it but I moved over my GHB contents to it for a day hike. It was way more comfortable than the shoulder sling pack I use for an GHB. With all the pockets and on the RIBZ I had no problems finding and getting anything while hiking. I had no shoulder pains with the RIBZ, unlike the shoulder bag. I found it to be one of the most comfortable packs I’ve ever used. My only complaint at all with the RIBZ was I felt like the backside could use some foam padding for better ventilation. It’s was very hot and I had a huge sweat stain under the RIBZ. Which would add extra weight unfortunately and I love how light and small these pack down.

I regret not being able to go on a camping trip and use this pack with a full back pack. I can really see how using it while on the trail and to keep on after making base camp wold be ideal. I think a perfect use for the Ribz is as a Get Home Bag. In any GHB situation I can think of having your gear more accessible just seems smart. If your thinking you will get strange looks while wearing this pack and would subtract from your “gray man” appearance I would disagree. During the time I wore it I kept expecting questions, eye brow raises or something. I even greeted every person on the trail and no one even gave it a glance. I think people kind of ignore anything or odd as an extreme case of normalcy bias.

Much like the majority of the gear I’ve had the pleasure of testing during this contest I will be buying a Ribz. Soon. I am completely convinced of the utility of this pack for all the situations listed. If you don’t win you should check them out and buy one. Speaking of winning this is how you do just that.

  1. What about wearing the front Pack over boobies? That’s seems like an important issue to address. If I win I’ll give a female perspective.

  2. I’ve been wanting to try this pack out since I saw it on Nutnfancy’s channel as well, though I think on a different video. I’d love to try it out while hiking, so I wouldn’t have to stop to access items from my pack.

  3. For a few years now, I have always used a ‘Mil-Surp’ Load Bearing Vest (LBV) when I was out and about hiking/ trail walking and even mountain bicycling. I have added some side and front pouches to my LBV and I love how comfortable it is. I even can wear it under my BOB ALICE Pack.
But after looking at the RIBZ pack, I really like the extra volume, the light weight and the accessibility with everything right up front.
I spend a considerable amount of time out in the woods wild crafting herbs and foraging wild edibles and the RIBZ pack just seems to fit my needs perfectly. This is a pack I would definitely try.

  4. I think I deserve the pack because no one else attested to their tattooed and peirced persona (got multiples of both) or their need to further prepare for the impending Zombie Apocolypse that will surely take place between this insane election and 12-22. I am apparently the only begger here who knows that this pack will make the differnce between life and death. As for the boobies angle, I’ll let my hot wife wear it…once…

  5. This would be great for me. My hiking pack is one large and one small pocket, with almost no organization.
